Christine Michelle Simpson

A service to celebrate the life of Christine (Christy) Michelle Simpson’s 62 years of life is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a time of fellowship with family and friends.

Christy was born May 30, 1962, in DeLeon, TX, to Bobby and Ora Haley Evans. She passed from her earthly life in Lubbock, TX on July 12, 2024.

As a child she moved around with her parents as her father managed various Levi Strauss plants. She graduated high school in Comanche Tx, where she met and later married Barry Simpson in 1979. In 1982 they welcomed their son Jeremy, and then in 1989 their daughter Jessica. Also in 1989, she graduated from Tarleton State University with her degree in computer science. Shortly thereafter, in the summer of 1992, she and the family moved to Marble Falls, Tx where she remained until 2006, when she moved to Gatesville. She lived in Gatesville until moving to Lubbock to be close to her children and grandsons in 2016. While in Lubbock she was able to enjoy her favorite hobby, spending time with her grandsons, watching their sporting events, playing, and helping out. They were her pride and joy. And as the youngest quoted, “I hope she can reach down from heaven and still play with me.”

Christy is survived by son, Jeremy (Meagan) Simpson, and daughter, Jessica Simpson; grandchildren, Caiden Simpson, Case Simpson; siblings, Bobby (Debbie) Evans JR, and Greg (Trisha) Haley.

She is preceded in death by parents Bobby Evans and Ora (Cathy) Duncan.
