Celeste S Wofford was born May 13, 1964, to Jerry and Virginia Pollard Simpson in Morton, TX. Celeste moved around and eventually settled in Lubbock, TX, where she graduated high school from Monterey High. She had her first daughter Haylie in 1987 and 10 years later would have Lacey and Logan following a year after that.
She went back to school and received many different degrees in education and taught every grade but settled teaching special education students. Her heart and passion were with those students. Celeste absolutely loved her students with such understanding and grace and gave selflessly to all without hesitation. She was dedicated and passionate about everything especially when it came to her children both her biological and those she taught.
Celeste recently started on a new journey in her faith with God and had developed ever lasting friendships. She also had a smile and wisdom to those who needed it most without ever knowing they needed it. Celeste was the one with all the answers. Her children and grandchildren were her entire world.
She is survived by her mother, Virginia Williams; children, Haylie Cunningham, Lacey Wofford, and Logan Wofford; grandchildren, Makenzi Pendleton, Marshall Pendleton, Eleanor Miller, Mariah Miller; and siblings, Matthew Simpson and Duane Simpson.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Simpson.
