It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecilia Martinez, a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who left us on February 16, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on November 9, 1941, in Slaton, Texas to Cecilio and Concepsion (Gonzales) De La Rosa.
Cecilia married her beloved husband, Henry Martinez, at San Jose Catholic Church in Lubbock on December 10, 1960. Together, they enjoyed many adventures, traveling and creating unforgettable memories. Cecilia had a passion for fashion, particularly when it came to jewelry and hats, and she sure knew how to turn heads with her style!
A devoted family member, Cecilia embraced her role as the family food critic, never hesitating to share her thoughts on the latest culinary creations. She had a great love for movies and reading, and she cherished the moments spent surrounded by her family and friends, especially her best friend/sister, Olivia.
Cecilia is survived by her three sons, Henry Martinez and wife Catalina, Ricky Martinez and wife Rose, and Frankie Martinez and wife Jamie, along with her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Arellano-Green and husband Austin, Destiny Martinez, Henry Martinez, Elizabeth Alamillo, Brian Campos, Cameron Campos, Dylan Campos, Joey Blas and wife Tammy, Ursula Escareno and husband Frank, Natasha Enriquez and husband Eric, Alexis Martinez, Danielle Brown and husband Tucker and Cameron Beckett and wife Kelsi; twenty five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister of the heart, Olivia Flores.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Cecilio and Concepsion De La Rosa; and her husband, Henry Martinez.
Cecilia worked in retail management for many years at K Mart, Walmart, and Walgreens, where she built lifelong friendships with colleagues and customers alike.
The family of Cecilia De La Rosa Martinez is gathering to recite the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM, Friday, February 21, 2025, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers followed by a time of visiting and remembrance. A Mass celebration honoring her life of 83 years is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Christ the King Cathedral, followed by a graveside at Resthaven Memorial Park.
