Obituary

Bruce Hilliard passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 48 years at 4 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2019, followed by a reception at Lake Ridge Chapel.

Bruce was born to Patricia Burgess in Los Angeles, California on September 10, 1970.

Bruce had a love for reading and art. He was an avid collector of unique things.

He moved to Lubbock, Texas, in 2014 and became employed with Covenant Hospital and remained there until his Home-going.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvester and Geniva Donaldson; uncles, Cleavester, Veranzo, and Donnell.

Bruce leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Patricia Burgess and husband Jeffery; aunt Sylvia “Cookie” Donaldson; uncles, Tommie and Daniel Donaldson; sisters, Marie Taylor, Tiffany Okafor and husband Kingsley; Staphanie Taylor; son, Davontay Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

  7. So sorry to hear of his passing. I first met Bruce when he was employed through Aramark working in our school cafeteria at Brown. He later got moved to Wester. The students, staff and co-workers really adored him at both locations. He was always so friendly and nice. Kept everyone on their toes. He will be greatly missed. May you rest in Heaven friend.

    I spoke to this gentleman a day before he passed I still can’t believe he is gone. I was amazing how he would take time out and have a decent conversation with you That is something you don’t find this day in time It let me know he was raised right .
