Bonnie Lynn Line passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018.
Bonnie was born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 25, 1949, to Edgar and Alice Eldredge. She is a documented ancestor of John Howland of the Mayflower Society.
The family moved to Escondido, California, in 1960 where she graduated from Orange Glenn High School in 1967. She married Steve Latta in 1970 which resulted in the birth of her two daughters; Danna Marie born 1972, and Nicole Rene born in 1974.
She later divorced and married Richard Line in 1977. Richard adopted both of her children as his own and became the love of her life. After living in San Diego nearly thirty years, Richard and Bonnie moved to Lubbock, Texas in 2006 to be near family.
During Bonnie’s childhood in Toledo, she developed a love of reading and writing. She wrote plays is high school that became performances. She attended writing conferences and was a teacher and speaker at various times. She wrote two columns and had seven books published. She wrote various articles on many topics.
She had a desire to teach and has taught Bible studies, Sunday school, writing groups, and tea-related activities.
Tea and its significance have always been in her DNA. She attended tea conventions and self-taught herself the history of tea, resulting in being an expert on tea. She was called THE TEA LADY. She taught workshops and classes, was a guest speaker at events, created the tea wheel and tea journal, and has run a tea business.
Bonnie was a master gardener in San Diego and her husband built a greenhouse in the back yard for her.
She traveled to Europe and Hawaii various times, but her greatest joy was “bumming around” with Richard on the back roads near Lubbock looking at abandoned buildings and windmills.
Arthritis and heart failure took its toll and for the last few years of her life she tended to stay home with her dog Annie and increasing her passion of being a prayer warrior.
Her main desire was to give joy to each person and for them to know Jesus as their personal Savior and be filled with God’s love, joy and peace.
