Bonnie Jones

Family and friends of Bonnie Jones will celebrate her life of 95 years at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 26, 2022, also at the Chapel. She passed on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. On March 25, 1927, Bonnie J. Jones was born to Henry Neal and Stella Mae (Vernon) Estes in Idalou, TX. She married R. L. “Sonny” Jones on December 3, 1948. Bonnie was a homemaker, always there for her children, Danny, Robert, and Pamela as they grew up. In her early 40s, she went to work for Texas Tech University and worked there until her retirement.

Survivors include her children, Robert Neal Jones and Pamela Nelson both of Lubbock; grandsons, Neal Jones, Keith Jones, and Brian Jones; great-grandchildren, Zachary Jones, Chase Jones, Allyson Jones, Portia Jones, Biniyam Jones; brother, Jack (Iris) Estes; and a sister, Ruth (Allen) O’Briant.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Neal Estes; mother, Stella Mae Estes; husband, R.L. “Sonny” Jones; son, Danny Jones; and sisters, Birdie Estes, Mary Cornelius, and Geneva Estes.
