On September 18, 1951, Robert Evan Schaefer was born to Charles and Wynell Schaefer in Arcata, California. He married Glenda Phillips on February, 17th, 1973.

Robert lived an exciting life; from a young age, he was attracted to all things that involved adrenaline and the thrill of competing. From playing baseball, riding horses bareback, bucking bulls, and hunting to full throttle race car driving, he was always ready to jump right into the next exciting thing. Later in life, he relaxed a little and dedicated his time to the endless pursuit of the perfect golf game, the ever-elusive big fish, and that winning slot machine. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with Glenda, his children, and his grandchildren.

Survivors include their children, Angela (Scott) Thomas, Kelly (Brent) Sisson, grandchildren, Braydon Thomas, Mason Sisson, Karington Sisson, and Stevie Sisson, siblings, Sharron (Doug) Estep, Peggy (Ken) Vanzant.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Schaefer; parents, Charles and Wynell Schaefer.

Robert Evan Schaefer passed on Saturday, October 9, 2021, and reunited with the love of his life Glenda; or as he called her “Punkie”.

We’ll always remember that special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace you always gave us. You being there for mom and us, through the good times and the bad no matter what. We’ll always remember you dad because there’ll never be anyone that can replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you.

Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
