Bobby Link was born July 3, 1980, to John and Margie (Madewell) Link in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1998. Bobby joined the United States Air Force (USAF) in 2007, where he was an honor graduate. He received his associate degree in Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) and has worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City for over the past eight years. Bobby was responsible for calibrating equipment that measured increments that were as small as in the millionths. His service has contributed significantly to our national security, and his dedication will be dearly missed. Bobby enjoyed reading, writing, researching science and religion, astronomy, history, art, and had a deep connection with music. He loved his family deeply and also his sweet dog, Alex. Bobby was a treasured son, beloved brother, amazing uncle, and faithful friend who will be honored and missed every single day.

Survivors include his mother, Margie Link of Lubbock; two sisters, Letannah Bloom, and husband Michael of Lubbock, and Kristen Link of Mayflower, AR; and two nephews, John Michael, and Luke Bloom.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Link; and grandmother, Letannah Bishop.

The family of Bobby Link has designated The Carl Sagan Center for Research, or for memorial contributions donated in his memory.
