On October 31, 1936, Bobby Ray was born to Warner and Ada Louise (Shipp) Hagood in Hale Center, TX.
Bobby Hagood was one of those folks that just loved people and people loved him back. During his 55 plus years of selling auto parts, industrial parts, and working on key machines he made plenty of lifelong friends throughout the entire Panhandle. He was hard working and loyal all the way into his 80’s when he finally retired. He loved hunting and fishing and NASCAR (even more than football I think). He was blessed to get to travel some in his later years and this was a true enjoyment for him.
Bobby was also a proud member of the Lubbock High Class of 1955. This is a tight-knit bunch that gave him a lot of joy. He loved the regular lunches, and we were all grateful that he bounced back enough to go to the big reunion celebration just a few months ago. Many thanks to this group for the lifelong friendship and camaraderie they have provided. Special thanks to the folks at Carillon House rehab center for the loving, caring service they provided these last few months.
If you ask 100 people who Bobby Hagood was, they’d each give you a different story but all genuine and with a smile on their face. He brought joy to everyone he met, and he will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his children, David (Martha) Hagood, and Christy (Todd) White; grandchildren, Erin (Scott) Dawson, Bailey Hagood, Dr. Hannah (Cody) Burcham, and Grace White; great-grandson, Perry Burcham; sister, Karen Justice; brother-in-law, Bobby Holmes; sister-in-law, Tonya Hagood, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Hagood; sister, Beverly Holmes; brother, Ronnie Hagood; and a special friend, Ann Wright.
