The family of Bobby “Bob” Ray Sturdivant will celebrate his life of 70 years at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 10, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a committal service with military honors at 2:00 PM in the Denver City Memorial Park. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, May 08, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, with his wife Robbie by his side. We invite you to view the live-streamed service here on this page, sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.On November 27, 1950, Bobby “Bob” Ray Sturdivant was born to Prentis Bee and Vada Moray (White) Sturdivant in San Saba, TX. Bob graduated from Denver City High School in 1970. After high school, Bob served in the Army from 1970 – 1973 and was stationed in Germany during that time. After serving in the Army, Bob moved back to Denver City, TX, to start his oil field career. He spent the majority of his career working for Shell /Altura/Oxy. He was a respected mentor and leader to those he worked with. After his successful career, Bob retired in 2015.He was always very involved in coaching sports teams for the boys when they were younger and used those opportunities to teach life lessons.Bob loved hunting, fishing, and photography. He could be found working in his shop or on projects around the house or at the deer lease with his boys or friends.Bob loved his family and friends and would do anything for those in need. He loved the Lord and displayed his faith through his actions. Attending the Walk to Emmaus weekend enhanced his walk with the Lord.Survivors include his wife, Robbie Sturdivant; their children, Patrick Sturdivant and wife Paulette of Mansfield, TX, and Ed Sturdivant and wife Kelly, of Atlanta, GA; a grandson, Tyler Sturdivant and wife Ashlen and new great-granddaughter, Evelyn Sturdivant, of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Prentis Sturdivant, of Hobbs, NM, and Billy Sturdivant and wife Donna, of Midland, TX; sister-in-law, Leticia Sturdivant; his mother of the heart, Ima Roycroft; along with a large extended family.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sarah Morris; and a brother, JohnDee Sturdivant.
