Bo Cowling passed away Monday, January 1, 2018. Byron “Bo” Vince Cowling was born to Byron and Barbara Cowling on February 15, 1992 in Lubbock, Texas. Bo graduated from Monterey High School where he enjoyed playing baseball and football. He loved sports, especially the New England Patriots. He enjoyed working on cars with his dad and friends. In the past three years, his passion was racing in the Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car. Most recently, Bo completed his real estate certification course and was excited about becoming a realtor. His contagious laugh could be heard from across the room. Bo was loved by many and will be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help others.

Survivors include his parents, Byron and Barbara Cowling; sister, Brooke Cowling; brother, Ben Cowling; and paternal grandfather, Ken Cowling. Bo was survived by many aunts and uncles, cousins, and great friends.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Billie Marie Cowling; his maternal grandfather, Vic Koch, Sr.; and maternal grandmother, Brenda Koch.

Just learned of Bo’s passing. My heart was broken, having seen him grow from a toddler to such a impressive young man. I had a out of state family member that I was with that was very ill and passed the same month, so I somehow missed this about Bo. Have long known and loved the Cowling’s as family friends, including Bo’s parents and paternal grandparents. Prayers for the Cowling’s! -Chuck Evans Family

He was a friend to everyone and he would help anyone, with the best intentions. He had such a loving soul, the sweetest personality and the most gentle spirit. He is a treasure. I’m praying for you for strength to get thru each moment, for peace to transcend your heats, for God’s love to overwhelm the pain, for God’s power to mend the brokenness, for God’s healing comfort to continue to surround you. I remember when my wife and I moved in across from Bo and his roommate 5 years ago, I'm not young anymore and sometimes moving heavy items is beyond my strength, Bo was coming out of his garage and asked if he could help and I was glad to have the help. Bo was 21 at the time, and we appreciated the help. Afterwards my wife baked him a cake and took it over to him and he expressed his appreciation. He noticed the Harley parked in my garage and we immediately struck up a friendship. A lot of times we would be setting out in the garage relaxing and Bo would come over and visit, sometimes we would talk for a couple of hours. He was such a courteous and respectful young man, always said yes sir and mam, I told him once that his mom and dad raised him right. He was always smiling. I remember when he and his dad started working on cars, he was quite excited about working with his dad. Bo was a very good friend and my wife are going to miss him immensely, just can't wrap my head around it, both of my daughters are still with us, so I can't imagine the pain that the two of you are going through, our love and prayers are with both of you and want you to know that if we can be of assistance in any way, just call.

Bo was such a fine, young man. He was very polite and respectful to us. He was truly awesome and our hearts hurt for your family and for all of us who loved him. We will all be together again someday with our Lord Jesus. Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient and His promise will last forever.

We were honored to have known Bo and spent the time with him that we did. Always a encouraging others and brightening up any room. Byron, Ben and family, may care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. Our most sincere condolences.

Cowling family I remember Bo foundly as a teacher. Though he was quiet I noticed he had a kind heart and observed others carefully to see where he could be of service. After graduation he always made a point to great me with a warm smile and memories of my class. I love you all and Sydney And I send our warmest blessings and prayers at this time and always. I remember bo briefly from football and he always had a smile on his face and very friendly to everyone he will be missed but he is not alone he is with his heavenly father and singing his praises forever and my prayers go out to his parents and his siblings I couldn't imagine what you guys are going through. But remember that he is in heaven where the pain is gone and where he has entirely peace that passes all our understanding. When you feel empty and down just read in Matthew when Jesus raised lazurus from the grave and I hope this helps you guys.
