Billy James Criswell passed from this life Monday, February 19, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers in Lubbock. 

Billy’s life began on December 21, 1953 in Borger, Texas; the firstborn child of Billy Gene and Thelma (Turner) Criswell. After graduating from Post High School, Billy enlisted in the United States Air Force. Billy married Barbara Jean Kelly on December 15, 1978 in Clovis, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2012. Prior to his retirement, Billy spent many years working with his father and brother, Orlan, at the family’s oil field company. He later became a professional truck driver and drove a truck for McLane High Plains for almost twenty years.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; and two of his sons, Billy Criswell II, and Shawn Turley.

Billy is survived by his children, Jack Turley and fiancé Mary Jimenez of Tahoka, Corey Turley and wife Crystal of Frisco, Clay Criswell of Lubbock, Brandy Criswell McCleskey and husband Kyle of Ropesville; daughter-in-law, Jamye Osuna of Lubbock; grandchildren, Abigail, Seth, Eli, Dylan, Makaela, Matthew, Auvri, William, Stormie, Caitlyn, Anyssa, Clay, and Chloye; brother, Orlan Criswell of Post; step-mother, Jane Criswell of Post; nieces, Mandi Criswell Cunningham and husband Donny of Post, Anda Criswell Perez and husband Diego of Tahoka; nephew Paul Criswell and wife Danielle of Post; along with numerous other loved ones, most notably his faithful four-legged best friend, Thea.
