Although he wasn’t really, I called him Grandaddy. I used to go to bluegrass festivals with my parents (Raymond & Maureen Lindsey) and Bill & Leola we’re at many of them. At one of the festivals I was sitting between Daddy and Bill and a lady came up and asked Bill if I was his granddaughter. He said he’d claim me and I certainly would have been honored to have him as my real grandfather. Bill and I would joke about dancing a waltz together if they played one and when they did we faked that we were getting up to dance. I loved listening to the jokes he always told. No nicer, sweeter, lovable granddaddy anywhere!

I have such wonderful memories of going to Uncle Bill and Aunt Leola's home in Idalou when we visited Grandmomma. There were always good jokes from Uncle Bill and it was an extra special treat when we got to go to the laundromats with them. We weren't working, we were looking for treasure in those lint traps we were cleaning out.
