Beverly “BB” Burke

The family of Beverly “BB” Burke will host a gathering of family and friends for fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 78 years will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers followed by burial at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Beverly was born August 20, 1945, to Harold and Ollie Mae Harris, in Plainview, Texas. She was a long time Wolfforth resident.

Beverly graduated from Lubbock High School. She married Jerry Burke on June 12, 1963, and they were married for 54 years, until his death in 2018. Beverly and her husband, Jerry, were house parents at Texas Boys Ranch in the mid 1970’s where they invested much of themselves to create a better life for kids. They owned and operated Jerry’s Photography for 43 years, working side by side with their children.

Beverly and Jerry were longtime members of Church on the Rock. They traveled the world over with COTR and various other ministries doing prayer support and pastor’s conferences. She was also involved in ladies’ ministries as well as prayer ministries.

Beverly loved her family and friends. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, as they were her greatest joy! She took the responsibilities God blessed her with very seriously. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as an endless encourager to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She prayed tirelessly for her family and friends and was always ready and willing to visit or have a meal together.

The family would like to thank Teresa Trevino for spending over five years caring for and loving Beverly. The care she provided was vital to Beverly and to us, her family. We are so very thankful for Teresa.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Turnbow and husband, Michael; her son, Jent Burke and wife, Stacy; seven grandchildren: Jessica Miller and husband, Cory; Drew Burke and fiancée Jessamy; Brooks Burke, Brynna Burke, Tristan Turnbow and wife Adriana, Deidra Burke, and Brayden Turnbow; as well as six great-grandchildren Ellie, Miles, Harper, Rylan, Emery, and Malcolm; sisters Jan Elliott and Pam Brandt.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Jerry, and son, Doug.
