Ben “Sonny” Dees

March 1, 1932 - February 7, 2023

Ben Kirtland “Sonny” Dees, Jr., 90, of Lubbock died Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 beginning at 3:00 PM at his home.

 

Sonny was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is also a retired Chief Aviation Structural Mechanic from the United States Navy. 

 

Ben Kirtland Dees was born March 1, 1932 to Ben Sr. and Mary (Ingram) Dees in Paris, TX. Sonny is survived by his son, Ricky (Tricia) White; grandchildren, Meghan (James) Oldham, Ashley (Brock) Ashley, Ryann (Matt) Hagstrom, Jennifer (fiancé Marin Ryan) Harris, and Brittany (Colby) Stegall; great-grandchildren, Madison White, Bralynn Burns, Joy Ashley, Liam Oldham, Blake Oldham, Cobie Hagstrom, Beau Hagstrom, Emmalynn Harris, Canyon Kueckelham, Cullen Stegall, and Conley Stegall; niece Lisa (David) Edzards, nephew Mark Dees; cousin Judy Keaton. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Roscoe Anthony White, Jr., sister, Mary Helen Adams; and a brother, JC Dees.
