On September 18, 1957, Rebecca Rae “Becky” Moore was born in Clovis, NM. Becky had a large family, and was one of 5 children. At the age of 8, Becky accepted Jesus as her Savior, but it was not until her junior year in high school that she fully committed her life to Jesus. This began a lifelong journey of loving Jesus and serving Him.At 19, Becky married the love of her life, Barry Moore, and they started a grand adventure of serving God, raising an amazing family of 3 children, pursuing careers, and loving everyone around her.Becky worked as a professional florist, specializing in wedding flowers, before changing tracks and entering the dental industry. Becky had a great career as an orthodontic lab technician.Becky was a great conversationalist, always had insightful questions, and genuine interest in the lives of everyone she met. She rarely forgot someone, often recalling the name of one she met many years earlier. Because of her heart of service, and the interest and value she placed on others, she was a great example of the scripture, “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”Becky opened her home to hundreds of mostly young people from her church, always preparing them a wonderful meal and hearing their life story. Her home was a place where young people could feel safe, loved, full of good food, and know they had a home away from home.Besides Jesus, her greatest love was her family. She invested greatly into her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren.Survivors include her husband of almost 45 years, Barry Moore; their children, Erin Moore, Emily (Michael) Koontz, and Nathan (Jenny) Moore; four grandchildren, Jonah Koontz, Hannah Koontz, Rinnah Moore, Hazelle Moore; siblings, Susan (Bennie) Slaughter, Jill (Johnny) Mulhair, Shawn Hays, and sister-in-law, Bambi Hays. She was preceded in death by her father, A. C. Hays; mother and stepfather, Edna and Lloyd Wagner; and brother, Stephen Hays. The family of Becky Moore will celebrate her life of 63 years at 10:30 AM CDT on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Trinity Church in Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM MDT, Thursday, July 1, 2021, in the Texico, NM Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel in Lubbock.
