Barbara Jean Allen

In loving memory of Barbara Jean Allen, a devoted wife, cherished mother, doting grandma, and adored great-grandma. Barbara passed away on November 6, 2024. She was born on April 19, 1940, in Plainview, TX and graduated from Plainview High School. On August 4, 1961, Barbara married Don Allen, at Halfway Baptist Church in Halfway, Texas. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey, residing briefly in Michigan while Don served in the Air Force before ultimately settling in Lubbock, where Barbara devoted herself to creating a loving and nurturing home for her family.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kim; sons, Brad (Lien Tran) and Kent (Charla) Allen; grandchildren, Audrey, Morgan (Grant Coffey), Charles, Dimitri, Ryan, and Jeremy Allen; and a great-granddaughter Birdie Coffey.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Allen; her parents, Noah and Ethel Tipton; sisters, Dorothy Willingham, and Margaret Corn; and a brother, Robert Tipton.

The burial was held earlier this month.

Barbara Jean Allen’s legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family will forever be cherished. She leaves behind a treasure trove of memories that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to have known her.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald House in memory of Barbara.
