Ava Mauldin passed away November 7, 2024. She was born on November 9, 1933, to Clyde and Eva Starrett in Crosby County. In 1951 she graduated from Crosbyton High School, moved to Spur, and accepted a position with Southwestern Bell Telephone which became AT&T. In a few years, Ava transferred to Lubbock with AT&T, worked may years with the company and retired as AT&T District Secretary. During the years with the company, she worked with many colleagues who became lifelong friends.
Ava is survived by her daughter, Chris Adkins; grandson, Zachary Adkins and wife Bri; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Curtis Armstrong; and four sisters: Laverne Waldrep, Zella Harris Melba Jackson, and Loneta Reid.
Ava enjoyed visiting with friends and family, working in her yard, shopping estate sales, collecting antiques and feeding the birds which flocked to her home.
