It is with sadness to report the passing of Ausencio “Sam” Paniagua of Lubbock. He passed into the next world peacefully at his home on May 14th, 2025. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time reading and spending time with his grandchildren, Isaiah Gutierrez and Alexus Lopez and reading the intricacies of St. Augustine of Hippo and other renown Catholic theologians, priests, popes and leaders in the Church. He retired from Ford Motor Credit Company in 2007 after having spent 25 years with them. He has spent the last year mourning for his precious wife Graciela who preceeded him in death on 02/24/2024 and whom he adored and loved with every fiber of his being. He was born to Elias Paniagua Sr. and Gregoria Paniagua in Cameron, Texas on December 18, 1955. He was a Navy veteran having served from 1974 to 1978. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. 1 Brother, Elias Paniagua Jr. preceded him in death in 2020. He is survived by 3 brothers. Pete Paniagua, and his wife Elpidia of Woodrow, Tx. Marcelino Paniagua and Rebecca of Lansing, Michigan and Jessie Paniagua and wife Julia of Dallas, Tx. He is also survived by a son and a daughter. Steven Keosouvanh of Amarillo Texas and Sasha Kilpatrick, her husband Cody of Culpeper Virginia.
