The family of Arturo Agustin will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 14, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. They will celebrate a “Homegoing Service” at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Renewal Church. He passed on Friday, January 7, 2022. We invite you to sign his virtual guestbook.
On January 29, 1950, Arturo L. Agustin was born to Hospicio and Amparo Agustin in Midsayap, Cotabato, Philippines. He married Corazon Tarifa on December 28, 1972, in Quezon City, Philippines. Arturo “Tong” Agustin died peacefully in Lubbock, Texas on January 7, 2022, at the age of 71 after battling cancer for over a year. Tong was born in Midsayap, Cotabato. He graduated from Notre Dame of Midsayap High School for Boys in 1968 and received his bachelor’s degree in Commerce at the Philippine School of Business Administration (PSBA), Quezon City. Tong lived in Midsayap and worked for his father and eventually managed his own business of corn milling. He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of his time gathering with family and friends. Though he was a quiet person, he can be funny, too. He’s kindhearted and always thinks of others before himself. He’s a devout member of the Renewal Church in Lubbock. His desire to be at church to praise God was very inspiring. He would be present physically even when he was in pain. He came to live in Lubbock, Texas with his wife Cora and eldest daughter, Catherine, and her family for 10 years until his passing.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Agustin; their children, Catherine (Sonny) Albano, Carol (Michael) Razalan, Ma Cristina Agustin, Zandro Agustin; six grandchildren; siblings, Gerardo (Rosemarie) Agustin, Hospicio Jr. (Joy) Agustin, Roberto (Dolores) Agustin, Ligaya Agustin, Adolfo (Estrella) Agustin, Renato (Marilou) Agustin, Rodrigo (Hanelli) Agustin, Noli (Aibel) Agustin, Faith (Joseph) Agustin, Ana Agustin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hospicio and Amparo Agustin; and brother Ricardo Agustin.
