A service to celebrate the life of Artie Hart-Corelis, 57 years of life, is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 16, 2023, at The Church on the Rock South Campus. She passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Please view the service broadcasting schedule and an area to share stories of Artie with her family on this page. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The National Brain Tumor Society.

Artie was born on May 4, 1966, to William and Ronda Lard Hart in Artesia, New Mexico. She married John Corelis on December 31, 1988, in Artesia, New Mexico. She attended college at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico where she received her bachelor’s degree in education, second in her class, Magna Cum Laude, and with honors. After that she began working for Southeast New Mexico’s economic development department, out of Hobbs, New Mexico, this she found her first great passion in life. She loved being able to interact with people from all different walks of life and come up with creative solutions. After having her children, and moving to Lubbock, Texas, she soon found her second great passion in life, being a homeschool mom. Being able to provide her children with a quality education and spend time with them, in a way that was impactful. Artie truly loved people, her outgoing nature and positive outlook that she carried through life allowed her to get along with, understand and befriend anyone, she made numerous lifelong friendships, and truly impacted those around her. Artie is survived by her husband, John Corelis; children, Brylie Corelis, Kyden Corelis, and Saylor Corelis; mother, Ronda Griffin; sister, Jodie Hart; numerous other family and beloved friends. She is preceded in death by her father, William Hart.

I don't know what to say...I have known Artie so long. I helped name Gone is Gone. I prayed for years. I prayed for the girls and John. I was one of the Freaky Internet Friends. While my heart is saddened my spirit is rejoicing. She is healed. She is with Jesus, and I know I'll see her again one day. I love you Artie. You were always a bright shining star in my life. As Heather Winn said - a compass. I will miss you until I see you again.

So many prayers and hugs to you John, Brylie, Kyden and Saylor. We will forever cherish the friendship and memories we had with Artie and all of you. Ours years of soccer together and the friendship we built over the years was such a blessing. Artie was one of a kind and such an amazing person. We hate that we are unable to be there today. John, Brylie, Kyden, Saylor, and Jodie: Artie was such a special friend of mine that I met through John during our days at New Mexico State University. We had so many fun times together and latter add Jodie to our trio. I always appreciated her lovely smile and contagious laughter. She always had a good prank or two or three that I could never match. Artie fought cancer with a vengeance allowing her to watch her lovely daughters grow into beautiful young women. John & Brylie~Kyden~Saylor, So sorry to hear of Artie’s (your Mom’s) passing. She was an incredible woman- in mind-body & spirit! John-you two were the best neighbors ever!! We had some great times! Thankful & Blessed for sure! You beautiful young ladies, our hearts are truly broken for you! She loved you girls fiercely! You too John! Artie’s mother welcomed me to Spring Branch, TX in 2005. She told me all about her amazing daughter, explaining she and Bill would be visiting to care for the grands. I followed Artie’s journey and continued asking Ronda about her. This young mom simply amazed me. She faced her illness head on and never gave up. Her strength, courage and love of God, gave her more time. When I met her in person, I just loved this girl! That smile was contagious. Artie lived life for her family. My heart breaks for all of you. I will continue to pray for strength for family and friends of beautiful Artie. God rest her now.

Artie, you were an inspiration to all of us. We truly enjoyed your family and your sense of humor during our homeschool days. You were always so welcoming. Prayers for your family.
