Arthur Ormsby

Funeral services for Arthur Cecil Ormsby, 87, will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 AM at Christ Lutheran Church. Pastor Alan Abel will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Ormsby, Eric Ramsey, James Ramsey, and Aidan Byrd.

Visitation will be today, January 12, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel.

Art passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He was born October 31, 1930 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The family later moved to San Antonio, Texas where he met his wife of 65 years, Marylin Elley. He spent most of his career as a banker. He was a Navy veteran serving in the Korean War and stationed in the Philippines.

Art was known as a people person who never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his friendly smile and caring personality. He was very active in his church serving as an Elder for over 30 years. His hobbies included golfing, boating, and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Marylin; two children Steven Ormsby, Cheryl Ramsey and husband, James; two grandchildren, Heather Byrd and Eric Ramsey; three great-grandsons, Aidan, Alexander, and Augustus. Art also leaves behind his sister, Winona Riggs of San Antonio; along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey and Lillian Ormsby; and brother, Cameron Ormsby, all of San Antonio.
