Anniece Odom was born on February 3, 1936, to Louis and Maggie Cox in Muleshoe, Texas. On October 27, 1950, Anniece married the love of her life, McKinley “Mack” Odom in Juarez, Mexico. They moved the family from Albuquerque to Lubbock in 1972, where she was a pet groomer.
Anniece purchased the Pet Company for the family in 1992. Many of the pet groomers in Lubbock today were lucky enough to be taught by “Mother”. She ran the Pet Company until her health started failing at the age of 74. “Grandad” retired to take care of mother in 2015. They passed away just weeks apart from each other.
Special thanks to our angel, Connie, mother’s “adopted” daughter for caring for her after dad’s passing. Mother loved her as her own child.
Survivors include her children, Susan Canon and husband, Mark; Donna Odom and Katherine “Kapper” Stevens; grandchildren, Courtney Odom, Marc Stevens, Amanda Karr, Jazmyn Foster and Brian; Travis Canon and wife, Tanya; and Jensine, Caitlin, Zeb, Tristan Odom; great-grandchildren, Colt and Cash Meeks; Angela Foster, Bristol Odom, Micah, Brendon, Jacob, and Gretchen Canon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley “Mack” Edward Odom; daughter, Deborah “Babe” Gayle Odom; son, Eddie Odom; parents, Louis and Maggie Cox.
