Margaret Anne Young passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 78 years on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 2 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel.

Anne was born on October 15, 1939, to John and Era (Beesley) Ratliff in Gracemont, Oklahoma and graduated from Sudan High School. Anne was in the first class attending Lubbock Christian College in 1957, where she met the love of her life, Delton Young. The couple were married on March 15, 1959, in Sudan Texas. She and Delton made their early home in Littlefield and Brownfield, Texas before moving to Wellman, Texas in 1965 where they lived for 53 years. Anne was active in all aspects of her family’s life; stock shows, sports, and especially in the spiritual lives of her family. She and Delton were active members of the Wellman Church of Christ and later the Brownfield Church of Christ. Anne loved art and was a prolific painter. She was active in the Brownfield Art Association and was a key organizer of their annual art show, regularly entering her own work. She and Delton moved to Lubbock in January of 2018 to be near her family.

Survivors include her husband, Delton W. Young; two sons, Allen Young and wife, Karri; and Douglas Young and wife, Shauna all of Lubbock; daughter, Sharon Cox and husband, Ed of Abilene; eight grandchildren, Heather Smarr and husband, Jason of Marble Falls, Sarah Young, Grayson Young and wife, Kendra, Samuel Young and wife, Amanda, and Graham Young all of Lubbock, Tiffany Cox and Rachael Cox both of Abilene, and Griffin Young of Lubbock; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Smarr, Peyton Smarr, and Veronica Munos;

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, and four sisters.

So sorry about Anne's passing. Anne was a beautiful, talented and very special lady. She was loved by all who knew her. I consider it a true blessing to have had the privilege of knowing her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I have so many sweet memories with this godly woman; sitting with her in church and listening to that beautiful alto voice, many adventures in Cloudcroft, shopping trips to Ruidoso, meeting in Montana and loving on Vada, that wonderful trip to outdoor worship at Lotsawatta, watching her copy a painting for ME, admiring her many beautiful paintings, sharing a deep love of the mother of our incredible husbands, listening to her express her pride in her children an all the grands. I could go on and on but will close with my sincere respect, admiration and love of my precious sister, Anne Young.

I have so many great memories of Anne in the 60 years I've know her! From the very first time Delton brought her to introduce her to his family. I told Delton "well, Delton, Anne really a very nice young lady but after spending a couple days with our crazy bunch she will probably go back to Lubbock Christian College and tell you that's more than I can handle and I better not get in this family" Many thanks to God for her accepting Delton's proposal to be his bride. Just to think of the birth of her children, grandchildren and great grand children! What a blessing and great heritage she has left for all her family to remember as long as we live. My love and prayers for the heart of God to help each through his time of much sadness.

May God gives all the Young families peace and comfort during this difficult time Know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Anne. I know she is having a joyous reunion in Heaven with her parents , brothers and sisters. My love and prayers are with your family during this time.

Anne Has been a vital part of our family ever since I was a small boy, Loved deeply by all. We have shared wonderful times together & will continue to cherish those memories as long as we breathe. Anne & Delton have always served as inspiration to many as to what real devotion is. We've been extremely blessed by her love & the love of her family.
