Anne was born October 26, 1922 in Norman, OK. She is a graduate of Hollis High School, Hollis, OK, where she was the Valedictorian. On July 18, 1941 she married Jess R. Wallace in Hollis. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University and graduated with her B.A. from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, MO. She earned the Masters of Education degree from The University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK. Anne successfully balanced many roles at the same time, including being a wife, mother, pastor’s wife and educator. Her godly life has impacted countless students and church members. She manifested “Southern Charm.” After retirement she and Jess enjoyed their motor home and made many friends around the country. They eventually settled in Lubbock. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents Raymond and Jennie Barry; siblings Raymond Ney Barry and Ellen Pendergraph; and great-granddaughter Riley May Gerlt. Survivors include a brother, Lloyd Barry of Florida; son, Barry Wallace of Houston, TX; two daughters, Judy Gerlt and Carolyn Franzwa of Lubbock; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of faith, family, and grace.
