Allen “Tiny” Gray

A memorial to celebrate the life of Allen “Tiny” Gray is scheduled at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Hillside Christian Church, followed by a time of fellowship with family and friends. He passed on Friday, December 23, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his family.

Tiny was born February 23, 1936, in Allen’s Point, Texas to Henry and Janie Gray. He married Sheri Hutchison on August 5, 1991.

A devout servant of his Lord and Savior, Tiny dedicated over 60 years of active first responder service to his community as a paramedic, volunteer firefighter, and instructor in Lubbock, Idalou, Shallowater, Abernathy, and West Carlisle. He loved spending time with friends and family, working horses and cattle, fishing, and hunting. Tiny also enjoyed teaching future generations about respect for wildlife and conservation as a youth hunt guide.

Tiny is survived by his wife, Sheri Gray: children Kathy Howell and husband Bill, Keith Gray, and Staci Newton; grandchildren, Jonathan Howell, Jacob Howell, and Leslie Newton; four great-grandchildren; sister Catherine Harbert; and multiple nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Mark Gray and Imogene McIntire.
