Obituary

The family of Adonna Clayton-Dow will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She passed on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.  We invite you to view her Life Tribute, a video of photographs set to her favorite music.

On September 4, 1946, Adonna was born to Glenn and Mary Lou Taylor in Hollis, OK. The family moved to Lovington, NM where they remained. She graduated from Lovington High School and married Bobby Clayton in 1964 and they raised their sons, Andy, and Eric Clayton, in Lovington.

In 1991 Adonna moved to Lubbock, TX where she worked as Controller at Lov-Cot Industries. She married James Dow in Lubbock and retired from Lov-Cot In. in 2012. Adonna loved to travel and had great adventures with Jim, her mom, and her friends Bronwyn Shaw and Geneva Solis. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be remembered forever as the best Meme who never missed a party and gave the best presents.

Survivors include her son, Anthony Clayton, of Lubbock; grandchildren, Jacob Perry, and wife Windy of Lubbock; Carson Clayton, Cade Clayton, and wife Bethany, all of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren, Dannie Perry, Aiken Perry, Preslie Perry of Lubbock, and Graham Clayton of Austin; siblings, Gary ‘Butch’ Taylor and wife Diane of Indiana; Stacy Vairin and husband Scott of The Woodlands, TX.

She was preceded in death by spouse, James Dow; father, Glenn Taylor; mother, Mary Lou Nix; son, Eric Clayton; and sister, Denise Demory.
