Adela Mireles Gomez

Adela Mireles Gomez passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019. Rosary service will be at 6 pm Monday, January 14, 2019 followed by a visitation at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 68 years at 10 am on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A tribute of Adela’s life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for her family.Adela was born on June 4, 1950 to Juan and Francisca (Ramirez) Mireles in Longmont, CO. In the latter part of 1950 she moved to Texas and lived in Colorado City. She moved with her parents to Justiceburg in 1952, due to her father working on the railroad. In 1963, she moved to Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School. Adela married the love of her life, Pete Gomez on April 2, 1971 in Lubbock. She always had her goals in mind and she followed her dreams and accomplished them as planned. She worked in accounting for multiple companies in Lubbock. Pete and Adela were totally committed to God and were blessed with two daughters, Denise and then Megan by adoption. Adela loved to cook for her family and friends. As a devoted grandmother, she cooked a special rice for her grandchildren, Rose and Timothy. Adela also enjoyed photography and videoing special family events.Survivors include her beloved husband, Pete Gomez of Lubbock; two daughters, Denise (Timothy) Rodriguez, and Megan Gomez all of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Rose Rodriguez, Timothy Rodriguez, Jr., and Adaline Gonzales; and five siblings, Janie (Joe) Hernandez of Lubbock, Mingo (Yolanda) Mireles of Lubbock, Olivia Teresa Dillard of Lubbock, Jimmy (Janette) Mireles of Houston, and Rosemary (Cecil) Quintero of Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rosemary Mireles, and a brother, Juan Mireles, Jr.The family would like to thank Drs. Wells, Fenton and McAdams for their loving care for Adela.
