As one who has lost a mother and a spouse, I wanted to share the importance of being offered the opportunity to say good-bye for closure. It is very important for those that choose to view their loved ones for the last time, to have a lasting memory they will cherish. I felt like Lake Ridge Chapel goes to great lengths to ensure families like mine a positive and uplifting experience, as well as grief classes to assist with loss.
The Visitation and Memorial service are planned with exceptional attention to detail which makes the experience a true celebration of life. Professionalism is also highly valued at Lake Ridge Chapel. The staff attempts to embrace the family and take care of everything so loved ones are able to grieve and celebrate memories without worrying about details.
Warm and Welcoming
When you walk into Lake Ridge Chapel, you are greeted by one of the many staff members that are there to serve families. The work at Lake Ridge Chapel is incredibly rewarding yet challenging. Every member of the Lake Ridge team truly has a servant’s heart and we consider our job at Lake Ridge Chapel a ministry. The Chapel is beautiful and welcoming with light during a dark time. The hope is that this fresh environment offers a feeling of hope and peace which is comforting to families. Every member of the Lake Ridge family is ready to welcome those in need with care and respect. The staff feels that it is an honor and a privilege to help every family celebrate the life of their loved ones in a way that is unique and meaningful.
As a widow that lost my husband too soon with limited options for grief counseling, I found no place to help me with my broken heart. While still functioning, I went about my days not realizing that I needed help with my grief. It means so much to me that Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial Designers offers grief classes for everyone dealing with loss.
Relief from Grief
To find Lake Ridge Chapel after the loss of my mother and my husband was a God thing for me. I believe, the Lord having His hand in my life lead me to where I am today, as I believe He does for all the families we serve. Not only do we take care of families in their immediate time of need, we also have the resources to take care of the family members when everyone goes home. This was the most difficult time for me. Everyone experiences grief in his or her own way and time. Having grief classes available allows you to take the time you need with the assurance of knowing someone is there when you are ready to walk through the process.
For ladies that lost their husbands as I have, we have a support group for women known as the “Lake Ridge Ladies”. These amazing women reach out to each other as they are learning to live a life that is unfamiliar to them. Most do not have friends outside of “couple” friends they had with their husbands and feel a loss of who they are when they are no longer “JOE’S wife”. Through Lake Ridge Ladies, these women are able to gently experience a new life with others who are going through the same thing, finding joy while overcoming their grief. Lake Ridge Ladies offers a full calendar of meals, games, movies, and travel, among other things for those who choose to participate. For the ladies that are involved, they have found new friends and a new life that includes joy. Growing through the strength of others, the Lake Ridge Ladies are blessed by being a blessing.
It also makes me so proud that Lake Ridge Chapel is recognized in the community as one that supports many organizations through gifts and contributions. Some of these wonderful organizations include Parkridge Pregnancy Center, Meals on Wheels, Stop Senior Hunger Food Drive, Santa’s for Seniors, Veterans and Hospice Appreciation.
I feel so blessed to work with owners Santos and Valerie Moreno as well as an entire team of great people committed to helping all members of the community. I know every day we will continue to allow the Lord to work through us to serve others. Because of this opportunity, I feel immensely blessed.
