Ramona Levacy Billingslea left a message on November 14, 2022:
I know this is a late message, but I just found out about his passing doing one of my off and on searches for him to see how he was in this world. Dr. McDonald taught three members of my family the fine art of honing our words and mastering story telling. First, he got my dad about the time I was four. Then, he got me followed by my sister. We are all better writers because of what he taught us. I remember fondly his classes and our meetings when he chaired my dissertation committee for my Master’s degree in English. He made me a better teacher as well. I wish I could have told him that with the new writing world we live in, I have been able to self-publish nine Christian novels and counting. My sister has copious notebooks filled with stories she will get published some day. We thank you for sharing your father and grandpa with us all those years. We are sorry for your loss. We know how much you miss him still. Ramona Levacy
